Windows 7 for $5?

It's so remarkable the different sites that one can find online when one is looking for something else!

Case in point:

I was looking for more information about a 3D program and it led me to a online website where if you join for $5 you can download the FULL version of Windows 7!

Since I am quite happy with the operating system that I have I chose not to download the Windows 7 program but I thought that it interest a lot of people if they knew that there was a website where they could download Windows 7 for just $5!

ICQ

I was trying to sign on with my ICQ program and found that I would have to download their newest version in order to sign-in - so that's what I did!

ICQ is another networking piece of a software program that is available as a free download. Basically what the program does is allow for you to have "contacts" that you can communicate with. It is sort of like a networking piece of software. I think that a lot of people use it for finding friends and finding romance but you can use it for other networking purposes as well.

The program is available as a free download from the ICQ homepage. You can create contacts and message them or you can talk and/or chat with them in real time if they are online as well. I'm not entirely sure but I think that there is a webcam feature as well. (I'll have to check on that though)

Of course there are a lot of other features with this program. You can provide an avatar of yourself and there are also sound files that you can include as well.

I have had this program for a while but haven't used it lately until the last few days and when I found out that I had to download their latest version I became interested in the program again.

You can download the program by following the link below:

The ICQ Homepage

Just click on the top tab that says "Download"

Remembering 911 - Free Banner For Your Website!

I found a site where you can get free web banners to commemorate 911. All you have to do is to go to the website and copy and paste the code to one of your own websites. There are different banners that are provided and you can pick the one that you like the best and copy and paste the code for it.

I think that this is a highly commendable thing to do to help remember the events of September 11th so that we won't forget and that hopefully it doesn't happen ever again!

Are You Interested In A FREE Version Of Paint Shop Pro / PSP?

I see that there are many people interested in finding a free version of Paint Shop Pro and I have finally found a site that lets you download an older (4.1) version of PSP.

I have downloaded it myself and while this is indeed a free version of Paint Shop Pro, it is an older version! Meaning that it doesn't have the .gif animator program and there are no provisions for making layers - like I said it is an older version of PSP!

Basically I use Gimp for my 2d graphics program but I see that there are still a number of people interested in being able to download a free version of Paint Shop Pro - no matter what version it is!

So if you make a $5 donation via Paypal, I will send you the link to the site where you can download this older version! I will also provide a link to a site where you can download other versions of PSP but be forewarned that these will be evaluation versions only!

Free Download - Graphics - Ferryman Fractal

If you're interested in a free fractal-generating program then you should really like this fractal program I found called Ferryman. The program is available as a free download.

Once you get to the download page you will able to see examples of fractals that others have created with this program. Also you will find tutorials and the latest news about the program.

I have downloaded the program myself and once I create a stunning fractal I will upload it here so you can see what this program is capable of.

Geocitites Will Be Closing!

the number of free webhosting sites has now shrunk by one!

Yahoo has announced that they are shutting down their Geocities site. Just in case you didn't know, Geocities was one of the free webhosting sites online!

There are still quite a bit of free webhosting sites online so if you need to move your sites from Geocities, just do a search for some (other) free web hosting sites.

Itunes?

I have heard a lot about Itunes and Ipods but didn't really give it much thought. However today I was downloading a podcast and saw Itunes mentioned again and decided to give it a try.

As I understand it, Itunes is a program that lets you listen to audio and video files - sort of comparable to the Window's Media Player program. I already have a couple of related programs that let me listen to audio files and watch video-related files but I figured that since Itunes seems to be so popular that I would download it and give it a try. I should warn you that the downloadable Itune program is 67 MB in size! I thought it would take me all night to download the program but it only took half the night to download it - LOL!

Since I just completed my download I haven't had a chance to open the program yet but judging from the website it has a ton of features and options so I can't wait to give it a try. (Goodness knows that I'm going to need a bigger harddrive if I keep downloading so much stuff - LOL!)

So once I take it for a "spin", I'll see how much I like it and decide on whether or not that I want to keep it.

To find out more about Itunes (and to get the free download) just click here.

Facebook Fans In An Uproar!

Personally I'm not a member of Facebook. However what I do know about it is that is seems to be a social networking-type website along the lines of MySpace.

I see that those that do belong to Facebook are up in arms about some changes that Facebook has made and I decided to find out more about it.

On February 4, 2009, Facebook changed their terms of service. Here is what another blog post has posted about the change:

"Anything you upload to Facebook can be used by Facebook in any way they deem fit, forever, no matter what you do later. Want to close your account? Good for you, but Facebook still has the right to do whatever it wants with your old content"

When you sign up with Facebook, you grant them the use of anything that you upload to them and you grant them the right(s) of irrevocable, perpetual, non-exclusive, transferable, fully paid, worldwide license (with the right to sublicense) to (a) use, copy, publish, stream, store, retain, publicly perform or display, transmit, scan, reformat, modify, edit, frame, translate, excerpt, adapt, create derivative works and distribute those things that you have indeed uploaded to them!
